Are cereal boxes okay for mice?

This might sound like a stupid question. But are cereal boxes and things like that okay for mice to make hides out of? If they chew them will they get sick? With the glue they use and everything I wasn't sure.

Fruit-by-the-foot to be more specific, It's not cereal but the box is similar.. Is this okay for them? Because mine have hides made out of it and they chew them a lot. I was wondering if it was something to worry about/change.

If your mice can fit in the box, and there is likely no chance for them to get stuck, then go right ahead. It should be okay! If you notice any change in diet, feces, etc. of course, take it out.

Hope this helps!!

Exclamation Updated Response!!

I was recently informed that if ingested, the wax coating potentially isn't be super healthy for them, but if your mice do not chew, then you have nothing to worry about. Whereas my gerbil loves cardboard to chew on. So I am not putting printed boxes in her cage only ones that do not have ink.

Sorry! Ignore the previous reply of mine!
