Fostering

So the rescue JUST contacted me and asked if I could foster a pair of male rats! They are being surrendered to the rescue because the daughter of the owner is allergic or something. So I may get them tomorrow,as it is kind of late tonight now (9:30pm).

I am happy to foster! Any pet rat is welcome in my home even it is temporary.

So I have not heard anything back yet.
The rats are still with the owner. She has not turned them over to the rescue or me (foster) yet and I am wondering if she just does not want to pay the surrendering fee?

They mey be finding it hard to let go to. Its hard when you have something you love and have to give it up. I hope that you get them. Are they surendering them becuase she is allergice or they have to?

I think you are in the wrong place buddy.
You are the weirdest cat I ever seen.
Now matter how big or small wierd or normal we or animals may be we can learn to love and get along and love is what makes it all worth wild. Becuase Beautie is in the eye of the beholder an no one is ugly or more prettyer then anything eals we are all equal. There are some ugly people and things but that is becuase man kind makes them this way do to thier actions.

Maybe they are finding it hard to say good bye. I know I would have a hard time saying good bye to something I was allergic to but loved.
I hope that you hear from them soon. I wonder if you could keep intouch with them and send them pictures since its not like they are surendering them becuase they dont want them but cant have them. Is that alowed if there is a medical reason why or if they like say cant aford them? around here they let some people know where the pets they gave up go to depending on certion cercomstances.

I just heard back finally.
I should be getting the boys tomorrow or Sunday.
One has a head tilt though and has not been treated yet.

How does one "sign up" to be a foster ratparent? Well, I doubt there are any rat shelters in Bixby Oklahoma.

So they were just dropped off. They are big and fat and obviously well loved. She gave them the best! A HUGE cage, really good food, good litter, heaps of toys and she told me all about them and wants updates. She hated parting with them, made me feel bad.I told her they are in great hands though.

Their names are Noah and Quincy.I will get pictures a little later.

Find a local rat or small animal rescue or even a shelter that takes in small animals and let them know your interested in fostering. They will then give you the info on fostering for their organization. You may have to fill out forms and might have a home visit as well.

Fostering is rewarding.I foster small animals and dogs and LOVE it.
