Hammocks are a hit!

I put a hammock in their cage last night and they didn't tear it up, plus they use it for sleeping. I found Aurora sleeping in it this morning.

Thanks!
I noticed a few torn edges on side of hammock but it's still in good shape.

They seem to really be enjoying their new hammock. As I recall, though, from my friend's rats, it will be torn up pretyy soon. They seem to love tearing stuff up. Although, you probably already knew that.

All depends on the rat maybe you will get lucky lol
Mne diddnt chew theres apart untill a month after,if they chew thiers apart. There is a lady on ebay who handmakes them and sells them pretty cheap, she makes them for all kind of small animals, here is her link to see what shes got if you want to check it out.....http://www.wtronix.com/hmwl/ lot cheaper then the pet stores,i think most pet stores are rip offs, just my opinion.

Their looking cute and comfy there Linda!

Could you put something else in the hammock to distract them from chewing on the hammock? A toy?

Hi Masterjack! I just put a wooden hidy thing in there and they are chewing that like mad. I also stuck in another clean hammock that was still in great working condition but the outside material was all chewed from guinea pigs. So far they are being very good girls! I was thinking I could probably make a hammock real cheap myself with just a peice of polar fleece- nothing fancy though and no sewing ether!

Ronda! I just looked at the site. She has some really nice things, and the little cuddle hammocks are priced really good- $4, even saw one for under $4!
I'll have to get a couple when hubby gets paid .

Keep an eye out for hammock tubes, they are cloth but look like a tube and have a slit opening in the center and both ends are open. I have a few and some of my rats seem to like them better than the hammocks.
