help determining gender!

hello, im new here as well as a new pet rat owner! i have just received two baby rats from the pet store. The store could not give me an exact estimate of how old they were, but they guessed 5 weeks or so. they did not even know the gender of them as they were supposedly going to be feeder rats. One of my rats is showing male parts, while the other has not so i am a bit worried as i am not ready to be taking care of more than two rats at this point! here is the best picture we could manage.

any help would be appreciated! thanks!

the one in your picture looks female but don't take my word for it, the cam has focused on your face and not the rat

You need to be careful, at 5 weeks a female is at risk of getting pregnant already! i should know, i've just had an accidental litter of 9 from a young female. My own fault i suppose, that "one more day won't hurt" obviously did! luckily she was taken out the main tank before i realised she was infact pregnant so no chance of a second litter as they can become pregnant straight after giving birth, which is why i can't pressure you enough to get an exact confirmation on your rats sexes!! could you not visit a vet? they will tell you, or if you can get a better pic, we can tell you for sure!!!

sorry, i can't see the photos at the moment, but if it is a boy it should have definate "boy bits". you'd know. they tend to like to show them off!
if it is one male one female, you could get another pair from the same pet shop to keep the other two company lol.

Looks like a girl to me! Also when a male walks around you can definitely tell a difference with stuff hanging down.

I know this is quite an old thread, I just wanted to say thanks for clarifying this, I always got confused, my first rats I thought were female, and my friend checked, telling me they were male, but couldn't explain the difference... :-)
