i make my own for my rats.
i believe there requirments are nearly the same.
nutro lite dog food, rottelli noodles, total, wheat puffs, rice puffs, cherios (off brand)
if you get the wheat, rice and cherio things from quaker they have no sugar in it.
make sure the dog food is low fat low protien.
and i give fresh fruits and veggies nearly everyday.

I make my own mix up - it's based on the Shunamite Diet. There's info here for you - though this is UK based, it will give you an idea of what's good etc!

Here's the link:

I use:

1 scoop dog kibble (James Wellbeloved light/senior)
5 scoops Alpha Herbal rabbit food (if you use a rat food as a base or rat pellets, substitute this for both the dog kibble AND the rabbit food)
1 scoop tricoloured raw pasta
1 scoop Kashi 7 grain (cereal)
1 scoop Whole Earth organic cornflakes (cereal)
1 scoop weetabix (cereal)
1 scoop Weight-watchers multi-grain flakes with apple (cereal)
Handful of pumpkin seeds

My rats love this and eat it all with no wastage. I'd just like to say, that there is an issue with cereals - a lot of them are too high in sugar for rats as part of a staple diet. Ideally you want them to be no more than 5-6% sugar (sugar per 100g) as more than this is too much really. I use no added sugar cereals or very low sugar - the other cereal I sometimes use is shredded wheat bite-size, as this has no added sugar too.
