Introductions, Help!

After 2 1/2 weeks of quarantining, it's almost time to introduce my ratties!
I know the basic facts about introducing rats, like:
~introduce them in a neutral area
~bathe them before being introduced
~wash cage well before bringing them into the same cage
~rub them both with a little bit of vanilla or tuna juice to tone down their scents

BUT I have a couple of questions.
~Should I give them an activity to do in the neutral room or just let them romp around?
~How long should the introducing period take?
~If they don't seem to like each other after the first time, how long should I wait before trying again?
~If they seem to take to each other the first time, should I just go ahead and put them together in the same cage then or wait for a while?

Thanks!

ooh, I hope you get answers to these questions because I want them too! haha

I would think that if they like each other right away, you could let them play in the neutral place a while, and then just watch what happens if you put them both in the same cage, probably in a newly cleaned cage that doesn't have all the smells from one rat so that it doesn't become territorial or feel invaded.
