A little nasty but:

Another problem with schubert. His poo is a little grayish ashy looking, but solid. I don't know if its a problem but I've heard if its white it could be liver problems. Anyone seen this before?

It could be the early stages. I'd keep an eye on it and if it changes or persists, take him in. Could just be something he ate.

we just changed their food to lab blocks so my boyfriend thinks that may be it. this is the third time we've changed it since we've had them but now we're sticking to this.

Certain kinds of foods can change the way their poop looks. I have heard of people feeding their rats certain kinds of dog foods that turn the poo completely white. I would keep an eye on it and if you aren't too far along in changing food I would do it gradually, like mix it with their older food. You have to give their little bodies a chance to get used to the new food.

If the poo is runny or anything like that make sure they are getting plenty of fluids and watch their treats.
