Mousie fur problems...

These past few days Maggie has been scratching like MAD! It's so bad that she has caused her back to bleed! I feel so bad for her. I was thinking possibly mites or something, but I just don't know. Any ideas? I've been keeping her cage super duper clean and I scheduled an appointment with a vet for tomorrow. Is there anything else I can do for her?

Perhaps dermatitis? Maybe she's allergic to something IN the cage? As in, maybe the bedding?

Thanks for your reply Flickering.
I just got home from the vet and her fur looks awful The vet said it is most likely mites and gave ivermectin (sp?) injection and I have an antibiotic to give her. Of course the prices are ridiculous, but I'll take it for her to get better. I hope she gets better or else my mom said we will probably have to put her to sleep my mom said. Please pray for me this once.
Thanks for everyones support.

I know mites can burrow into wood and other porous items. Is there anything porous in her cage that you can take out? This would mean the only items in the cage could only be strictly plastic or glass.

I'll send good vibes.

Thanks so much
They don't have any wood, just glass and plastic. I am in the middle of bleaching the whole cage and soaking the accessories. Better go give her some antibiotics
