My Girls

Last time I posted I got the new three level cage and thought they were doing good. Well, just a few days ago I found even more bite marks all over Daisy. So, I have just decided to separate them permanately. I put the two level cage right next to the three level cage and put Lily (the biter) in that one. I just did it this morning. I don't have another water bottle so for now she has a water bowl, but on my way home from work I'm gonna go to PetSmart and get a water bottle and some more toys and shelters. It's her own fault! I just hate having to clean two cages every weekend now. Ugh! But it'll help Daisy. I hope those bite marks heal fast.

Should I get a mild kitten shampoo (thats what i read to use) and clean her boo-boo's myself? Because they are right behind her ears, where she can't reach..

I would go ahead and clean the wounds and maybe put some neosporin on them just to prevent infection. I would also get the other one a water bottle as soon as possible!

Thanks for the advice!

My mom and I cleaned the boo-boo's and put neosporin on them. I'll keep an eye on them to make sure they don't get infected. I think she'll be okay though. Being separated from Lily will help Daisy's bite marks heal and the only time they will be together from now on will be when I take them out for play time.

Thanks! It's so sad.. She's covered in bite marks right behind her ears. I don't understand why Lily was doing that. I have the two cages right next to each other, so they can still see each other and stuff.. but I just can't have them together anymore.... just when I have them out and can watch them.

Aww, that's sad to separate them but sometimes it's necessary. I hope Daisy feels better soon.

Yeah, I hate having to keep them apart but it's the only way to keep Lily from biting Daisy. I take them out a lot so they can spend time together.

aww poor girl! i hope those owwies heal quickly. it is a shame having to separate but it's not worth the little hunny getting hurt. maybe they'll miss each other and soon forget about biting

I let them out to play together downstairs on the couch in the living room. Lily was pulling on Daisy with her mouth. I don't know why. It's almost like she's just a bully. I can't figure out WHY she is doing this.

Awww Im sorry about that! It must be hard to seperate them. At least they get to play together. I wonder why Lily was pulling on Daisy's ear? Hmmm....

Lily wasn't pulling on Daisy's ear. She was just pulling on the hair on Daisy's back..

Rats often pull and tug at eachother during play.
