My Little Mouse Tiny

I kept Tiny. He was the runt of the litter. He was so small when I got him. His eyes weren't even open. We thought he was blind. I gave him his own place and with good food and water, he is growing into a nice size mouse. He was born about mid-February. He wasn't handled when he was a baby so I really can't hold him now. I tried and he bit me a little because he was scared.

I can hold him if he is in a tube with both my hands on the tube. He has no choice then to climb onto my hand and then he is fine. Otherwise, I leave him alone. He has lots of space (Crittertrail One) with lots of toys and lots of climbing space. He is white with red eyes. Adorable! I also have 4 girl gerbils.

Question: Would Tiny be considered a fancy mouse? He is the product of petstore mice. He loves Cheerios and carrots. I take all the corn out of his food. I leave a few sunflowers seeds in the bowl. I also put a little bit of gerbil food in the bowl also.

Tiny looks like an albino, which are not technically called "fancy mice," but realistically, I think that ALL mice are fancy mice because he does have a BREED, and that IS albino!
And he looks pretty fancy to me! hehe

But, also remember that there are no differences in species at all between the "fancies" and albinos. They can all live and breed together, and all make great pets. Its just that albinos are usually used for feeders, and cost less because they aren't as "pretty." (Sad, huh? I don't agree with that personally!)

Hope that helped! And I am glad you love him so much!

Nice fellow.

Aren't fancy mice hardier and smarter than the other kind?

They all love Cheerios. And I find LM Rat and Mouse food more suitable for mice than any other brand. Try it.
