My boyfriend bought it for me for my birthday. It's a superpet cage. He bought it at petco. You can probably go to their website and look at them. We took the old cage and put it on top, then added a ramp from the top shelf in the lower cage to the roof. The rats come out the big cage and go to the top cage and sleep. They usually sleep on top of the top cage in a little house we put up there. It's complicated I guess, I'll have to take pictures.
yea they're advertised for being a ferret cage but I never understood it either. It's like the superpet that is advertised for rats can't even hold one...oh well, I only have 3 ratties and it helps. With my extra cage on top it makes it better. I love the cage actually I have read good and bad things about it. I don't mind wiping up the shelves every few days and I noticed that they don't pee on the shelves................but they like peeing on me...go figure.
I couldn't believe it either. I heard about the pee trenches and stuff like that. I was hesitant to get the cage in the first place. My boyfriend said it was my cage and I could whatever I wanted to do to it. I told him I wanted fleece lining and all that crap. Well we waited a few days and I did indeed notice that they weren't peeing on the shelves. Not even pooping :thud: One of them did poo inside the little tubey thing on the bottom, but other then that, they don't pee or poop on the shelves.
Scofield stay in the bottom mostly and he's the big peer so I guess that helps. Jack pees in corners and I haven't figured out Seva yet. They do seem content though, I'm actually happy i got that cage instead of a martins. With what I've done to it, it's HUGE and gives them lots of stuff to climb on and not just ramps.
