My New Additions

Ok we went into petsmart today and Jon picked out these two rats. We really only wanted the first one but when the hoody came out and started pulling on his tail, we realized that they were friends, so we couldn't leave him behind. There were only 5 in the cage and i really wanted all of them, but I don't think I could handle 5 babies right now. My rat's cage is open 24/7 so we have to train the babies so they know now to leave that area. I haven't really named them yet. I wanted to name the hoody Zaki, but I don't know.

i think he's a burmese. He's too dark to be siamese or himi. Someone said some kind of golden himi but I don't know.

I would think he was a burmese as well. They are adorable little guys! All of the rats/rodents I have bought from Pet stores were never nice. They did let me handle them before I would buy them either But it looks like you got yourself a couple on nice, handsome, little fellas!

Mouse Question . . .

Is it okay to house 2 males together? They are very young and are litter mates. They get along great now . . . what do you think? I think they'll be happier together than alone . . .Thanks for your help!

If they are getting along and there is mo bloodshed, then I don't see the problem.I have housed male littermates together and no problems.

If they start fighting and you have some bloodshed, then it is time to seperate them! Males can fight to the death!

REally first off you could try getting them a bigger tank or cage and putting A LOT of hidey houses in it. That could help stop the problem if they do decide to fight.
