My new mice are humping

So....I noticed this morning, my one mouse is humping the other. now, i know they're both girls. they were in their last home for a year. are they figuring out dominance in my new home? They're in the same cage, but I figure that doesn't matter if everything else is different. There's no fighting, just mystique humping shee-ra. there's eeping, but I watch and there's no harm, she just doesn't like it lol. Will they work it out on their own do you think? I have to ask, I've only had one mouse 4 years ago, so it's been a while, plus my mouse was solo so i've never experienced mouse interactions.

Yup.It is dominance.

Oh yeah and sometimes when they are in heat they will mount eachother, even though they are both female. But it is usually dominance.

What disturbed me was when the guinea pigs started to do it. Uh it was in appropriate behavior to say the least and a small bit abnormal.

OH shoot. I will just tell the story. When we got the buddy for our first guinea pig to establish his dominance he humped humphrey's head. He did it while I was holding them too. It was disturbing. It lasted about a day and then it was over.

Our male rats tend to wrestle and the females tend to push each other off of things and sniff each other. I haven't noticed any same sex humping for dominance.
