my rat

i tell this story everywhere i go, i love it!

when my rat "josh" was born, my moms friend threw them over a fence. without permission from anyone she chucked them over
a wooden gate separating our apartment complex from a shopping center. we had about 9 or so baby's, they were about 1 week old when she got rid of them. about an hour after she threw them over the fence i saw a little tiny rat scurrying around on our front porch. somehow josh found his way back to the apartment complex and to our exact apartment, he found ours out of probably 200 other apartments. and now he has lived to be 6 years old. he is old and brittle looking but he still enjoys being held as much as he did 5 years ago. he is also known to kiss or lick you. he is also not a very bright rat, i have let him walk on my computer desk allot and probably 4 or 5 times he has fallen off it

thanks! i know i've been blessed, he wont be around much longer though. me and my mom are taking him to a vet on tuesday to have him seen, the doctor my mom talked to said if he is in pain it would be best to have him put down, he has a bump on his neck and he rarely uses his back 2 leggs. even though, he still loves to be held and shows compassion. we never saw the other rats, i dont know what happened to them

ps. if anyone knows what might be up with his legs please let me know? it kills me to see him the way he is

Older rats often just lose the use of their back legs.Since he is so old, that is most likely what it is.
