My Rat Room :)

Tonight some wonderful ratfriends came over to my place. It was a lovely visit as always. Then Liz had the brilliant idea of reorganizing my rat room...stuff I don't think of since my back is pretty wretched. BUT I had people offering to help me and wanting to organize me...hehehehe.

So voila...here is my Rat Room...we moved an FN around, a few cages, made it easier to get to stuff, etc...it's awesome!!!

Walking in the door

Turning to the right, the cluttered corner (still need to work on that one) and Mini and her meecey friends.

Turning to the left

and a little more

and finally as you leave the room you see my wonderful picture of Gwinny, that Shelley from anoher forum made me. A place of honour, not just a place in my heart for that sweet little ratgirl.

If that last picture is an artistic rendition, which it looks like it is, your friend Shelley seriously needs to consider maybe doing those on commission for some money. That's amazing.

She did this on the computer and has done some other work that was utterly amazing.

The original pic of Gwinny is in this post here

It looks soo nice!! How many rats do you keep in your FN comfortably?

I have the little (well I guess it's not so little) red cage and I just want to suggest maybe getting them a chewbular. Have you ever used them with your rats? I get them at almost any pet store too.

My girls love it! And I just put it on the top level and I wired it to the floor of the cage, so it doesn't roll around.

But not to hijack the thread, the room does look fabulous!

Super room! I loved it! My husband would like the rocking chair you have in there too, as he loves to sit down in a comfy chair in the evening with Klausse, our Russian Blue, and do quiet cuddle time with him. I also loved the painting/portrait as well!

Right now the max I would keep in a half FN is 5, but all of them have 4 in them, except the first FN top, has 3 little old ladies...

As for a full FN, I can keep about 10 in each, have kept 13 at one point but this was a group (almost all girls) that got along amazingly well, as for boys, I would say 8 would be my max.

Just over 40, but the numbers are going down quickly. Mallo and Spree were pts on Tuesday, tomorrow I am taking in Emily and Pez to be pts as well. Next week? Who knows. Lots of older compromised ratties here.
