Ok this might not be important but im nervous!

Well my boys have really sharp and a wee bit of curley nails ! and they are like being pricked with a needle each time they crawl on me its sore and leaves marks !
Also i have noticed that they squeek somtimes when one gets ontop of eachother so i guess they are hurting eachother with their nails!
So i went across my street to a girl i really know well she has alot of animals rodents, snakes, dogs and cats and she has experiance with health and everything else !
So i asked her would she trim my boys nails and she said of course but i am scared because incase they don't sit a peace or they get stressed and scared but i really do trust her because she has all the right medical stuff and she does her own animals nails so im scared incase of the stress or they don't behave !
Im going to take them over to her house tomorrow
So wish me luck !!!!

I hope all goes well with the clipping, I'm sure they will be fine. Bring some yummies for them and they will forget all about it.

you could also put a brick under their water bottle to wear their nails down

my ratties don't particularly love getting their nails done, but i have someone hold them tight to keep them from moving and i trim the nails....they've gotten used to eat it and we give them yummy treats afterwards,so bring some treats along for your boys.

Thanks everyone !!
im very nervous i was wondering if wrapping them tightly in a towel would work because i tried that today and they just sat looking at me?
So im wondering if that would help !
Toto will sit still because he is calm but novo is HYPER LOL
So i will bring treats and make sure their ok !

Ive tried putting a brick underneath and sandpaper and wood but they move it LOL or they will go up the cage and hang upside down and get the water ! LOL

But yeah their nails defo need cut because they are hurting eachother !
Im just scared incase tomoro they get it done and dont like it then they wont come near me again because they think i'm gunna do it again ?? thats my biggest fear because my dog wont come near me for ages when we try to do her nails ????

oh goodness..hopefully they won't be that scared after it...as long as their toe doesn't get snipped off, which i'm sure it won't i think they will still want to come to you...my girls would just sit on my after and eat their treats and enjoy some petting.

well, there was a lot of squeeking, but when Pepper had to take his antibiotics we wrapped him in a tea-towel, which did work well. We had to do that because he hated taking his medicine LOL... he still loves us thoygh hehe

I would be nervous letting anyone clip my rats nails, even the vet.

Sometimes what I do is when they're out playing I'll take a finger nail file and get a few swipes when I can...it seems to help
