Pandora

Pandora has a lump on one of her back legs. She still uses it, still eats. THough she's looking a bit skinny and sorry for herself. Should I be worried? The heats going to knock her over, I think. I Came home today and seh was laying out of her house, looking kind of...dead. I put my hand in and she woke up and was happy to see me, so I cuddled her.

ITs been shockingly hot for the last few days, so I wouldn't be surprised if she did die, I Come home at the end of the week and expect to find her dead, so...Should I just put her down? I feeel so sorry for her.

Having your rats in a very hot house while you are gone with no relief is really bad. Do they have anything to cool them while you are gone? Oscillating fans, frozen filled up water bottles in their house to lay against or anything like that? You do not want your babies to die from heat, and that would be an awful way for a pet to die. You have to get them to a cooler part of your house or get some fans or something! And Pandora needs to see a small animal vet.

What does the lump look like?

I would suggest getting a form of cooling device for the rat if ac isn't an optino. Like said above fans and frozen water bottles work well I also use to use mini containers filled with water and a rock. So they could lay in water to cool off if needed but have a way out without risk of injury. Make sure its only deep enough to sit in comfortably without having to swim or stuggle to keep theuir head above water. or getting really soaked. Just a shalow amout will do.
