Pictures of the boys

Thought I'd post some updated pictures of my boys. They are just about 5 months old now.

Philly playing Hide-and-Seek.

I found him, so he had to hide somewhere else.

Nefarion peeking cautiously over the arm of the couch. He always looks like he will jump, but never does.

Then there is the lure of food, which works every time.

Nefi comes to check it out too.

Nefi trying to eat without touching the food. That would get him sticky, after all. (He bathes a lot. He hats being sticky. Watching him try to pea fish is really funny because he keeps trying to get at them without actually getting wet. )

Philly looking very distraut that I took the blanket away so I could actually get a picture of him.

Then he remembered the beef stew, and got over it.

Yummy stew...

Philly says he prefers the mushy carrots...

...But thinks it's rather impolite of me to flash that thing in his face while he's trying to eat.

Nefi says, "Forget the carrots, this beef is yummy. I'm even going to touch it so I can grab as much of it as possible all at once."

So cute! So can rats eat just about anything? I don't know much about them.

Just abuot, yes. There is a relatively short list of things they should avoid. I try to make sure that they have plenty of fresh foods to supplement their lab blocks and often treat them to a bit of whatever I'm having for dinner.

That would be nice if my guinea pigs could do that. I would save alot of money, lol.

I like their names. Do they have a special meaning?

Philly is Philly because:
1. They are dumbo rats and their ears remind me of Feival trying to hold up his hat.
2. Feival's nickname was Philly.
3. We went to Philly to pick them up.

Nefarion is Nefarion because:
1. Nefarian is the name of a big black dragon in a game I used to play.
2. Ryan didn't want me to name him Morty. (Muerte)
In the end he is quite the michevious little devil, so it fits.

They are beautiful pictures. They sure love their beef stew!

Your black boy looks alot like my Zephyr (silver black berk dumbo)...but Zephyr recently turned one yr and his bum is turning a rusty/brown color and is no longer black.Zephyr is bigger too.

Thanks guys.

They did really enjoy the beef stew, which made me happy. It's the first time I've ever made it.
