Questionable Behavior? Or Normal? Help Me?

So I got a rat month or two ago and she has a jittery almost spastic movement. Also she keeps sneezing is it nervous behavor or is she sick. I figured that it would go away as she got comfortable with me. Please help!

Some really playful rats often sneeze and jerk/hop around as they play. It can sometimes be difficult to determine between a playful ratty and a nervous one. Most scared rats will let out squeaks or screams when handled, letting you know they are scared. I have a couple hyper rats that are often mistaken for being skittish... not the case, they just want you to chase them!

Also, if she's your only rat, you need to get another. The spastic movements can be neurotic, from chronic boredom and unsatisfied natural habits. Rats are VERY social. Try getting a same sex companion for your ratty and see if it helps the situation.

Here is a video of a rat "popcorning". If your rat's twitches look like this, then she is most likely being playful.

The sneezing could be cause for concern. Does she any discharge from the nose or eyes? I also agree that you should get her a female friend if she does not already have one.

it is not frequent only when i play with her and she does not squeak or screech so she must be very happy. I got another rat and she seems happier! thanks a ton!
