Cool Rat Genetics Questions

If Ginger is pregnant, then most likely Constantine is the father. So I have some questions about what the offspring (if any occur) would be. Some of these questions are in general.

1) If a double rex (RR) is bred to a normal run of the mill rat who has no abnormal blood at all (Rr?) would any of the offspring be rex? because I once read that if the Rex gene is there, it's going to show up.

2) Where do hairless rats come from?

3) What is their allele?

4) Do the offspring of a hairless rat, even if they a furry, carry the hairless gene?

5) If a double Rex/regular rat litter is born and the offspring don't carry the Rex gene, then do they carry the hairless gene?

6) Are double Rex' and hairless rats related?

7) What if a double Rex is bred to a Rex?

Thanks haha lotsss of questions and more to comeee

I love genetics (:

Rat Property Laws
1. If I like it, it's mine.
2. If I've peed on it, it's mine.
3. If I can take it from you, it's mine.
4. If I had it a little while ago, it's mine.
5. If you've got something larger, it's mine.
6. If I'm chewing something up, all the pieces are mine.
7. If it's in my reach, it's mine.
8. If I saw it first, it's mine.
9. If you are playing with something and you put it down, it automatically becomes mine.
10. If it's broken or it tastes bad, it's yours.....

Hairless:

No.

7) What if a double Rex is bred to a Rex? then you will have a double rex litter.

Abnormal blood? This confuses me. But you really need to know your genetic codes

rere - standard coated rat
Rere - rex coated rat
ReRe - double rex

The whole litter should be rex according to the punnet square.

Re Re
re Rere Rere
re Rere Rere

Hairless are genetically are completely different.

Hairless:

2) Where do hairless rats come from? Originally from the labs. Most genetically hairless rats have serious health issues and do not make it into the pet industry very often. The majority of nakies are double rex.

3) What is their allele? fzfz or shn/shn or rnu/rnu or hrhr:

4) Do the offspring of a hairless rat, even if they a furry, carry the hairless gene? probably as they are a recessive.

5) If a double Rex/regular rat litter is born and the offspring don't carry the Rex gene, then do they carry the hairless gene? No.

6) Are double Rex' and hairless rats related? No.

7) What if a double Rex is bred to a Rex? then you will have a double rex litter. Double rex only throws 1 rex gene into the mix)

To the world you are only one person, to your rat you are the World
