I hope the baytril alone works, but be prepared to add another med...I usually go hardcore combo meds for a nasty URI or pneumonia.

For my girl I started with baytril for 3 days, then went to baytril/doxy (4 more days), then Chlorpalm (4 more days), then had to learn sub-q injections for gentocin/dexamethasone (5 days), and finally cured her with zithromax and baytril. I thought we were going to lose her, as there would be no resonse to the meds, very little or a bit then it would plateau and she wouldn't continue improving. IF they don't respond well, is your vet willing to prescribe you zithromax? That, combined with baytril, is a fantastic combo for stubborn URI's

If I were you I would insist on adding another antibiotic now... My vet almost always prescribes a baytril/doxy combination first and then adds something else if that doesn't clear it up. I don't think that baytril alone is usually enough to kick an infection, at least not in my experience. Good luck!
