Siobhan & Saoirse

Meet my two newest additions! My little mousey girls,Siobhan and Saoirse. The white one is Saoirse and the dark one is Siobhan.

I will get better pictures of them tomorrow. They are in a temporary cage for now,but will be moved to a 33 gallon tank in the next day or so.They are friendly little girls and my daughter loves watching them run on the wheel...she finds it hilarious!

I don't think they look very chubby. I hope they are not pregnant. They are cute though!

Thanks.

Nah,they are not chubs, could just be the picture angles.I really hope that they are not either.I know how to deal with babies fortunatly and do have spare cages, but I rather not have a pregnant mouse. For one,I do not want male mice...and if there are male babies,I have to rehome them...which is a problem, since the pet mouse industry is not big here.Pet mice are unheard of around here usually.I could keep the females though.I have two 33 gallon tanks and a 15 gallon if needed.

It is a deal!!!!
These little girlies are quite friendly,so I know that she at least handled them!

Saoirse is pronounced "Sear-Sha".
Both names are Irish! I love Irish culture.I love German too,but couldn't find any German names that would stick and suit these little girls.

What are mice like? Are they kind of like hamsters (socially, I mean, etc etc)? Or more like rats? I always see them in my little pet store and..you know maybe one day I'd like a little fuzzball..

I'm half-Irish and half-German, my dear! That means you must love me a lot.

I love how Saoirse sounds. And I just raspberried Jacopo for you - he looked at me like, "you woke me up to do THAT?"

"ssssssssssseeef3434rrrrrrrrrg " - Jacopo.

Mice are sort of like rats, but not.

They are alot more social then hamsters, yes. They can be quite friendly, but are not really cuddly (plus they are too tiny to cuddle!).But you can handle them and really tame mice will often climb up your arms and stuff. They are also very active and amusing to watch with their silly antics.

Hahaha! Eeeee!
Gotta love when rats give us those weird looks!

They are beautiful Vanilla, I adore their patterns. I would have liked girls rather than the wiffy boy I got but what can I say, he is adorable and now I love him. I can bear the smell as long as I give his cage a good clean every three days or so. I also have to replace his nesting material as he pees in there a lot and it gets wet.

I also love the names, I taught in a Roman Catholic school in Leeds last year and all the children had beautiful Irish names. Niamh, Aine, Alannah, Aoife Cara etc I have a niece and nephew who are twins named Maeve and Diarmuid.

If only you were in the UK I would take your boy mouse babies if you had any!

Oh my, I would have loved to had that experience! I've always had this homesickness inside when I think of Ireland - if my life works out perfectly, I'll be living there one day. Oh my, Aine is beautiful. I'm pretty sure it's celtic or gaelic for "happiness"?

Thank you for the info though, Vanilla. The only thing I'd worry about is the smell. With my litterbox and rattys, I don't think I want anything else smelling up!!
