squeeky ratties...

Pepper, my berkshire male rattie used to be the dominate one, however when we lost rayray he was extremly down and upset. When we got him back, it seemed that Pepper had calmed down on Rayray a bit and now Rayray is dominate. I know this is quite normal, although Rayray is really coming down hard on Pepper and their are qite loud, long squeeks coming from the cage. I always check to see is they are ok and always are, but I was wondering if it was all ok because it can sound harsh. Thanks...

If there is no bloodshed, then things are okay.
They just have to re-establish dominance and sometimes rats can be quite loud and protesting during these squabbles.

I know it's nothing major, but the other day I was examining rayray and came across a nip on his ear. It was very red but not too bad so I'm just keeping an eye on them for now...
