for my rats i made a doll house for them out of boxes so they can play, you can take toliet paper rolls fill with food (not treats, but you can put a treat or 2 in it...) then stuff with paper towels, they love those and ladders, my rats loved ladders to places like my window, a chair, and a table, but watch out some rats aren't good at going down a ladder and instead just fly to the floor

yeah, I would think that is the right age cus they look it. I so love your little ratties they are just too adorable! Infact, I was not even aware that you could get twin rats until this thread *silly me* lol, anyways, sounds like your doing a good job and good luck finding the perfect rat cage for your boysies!

OMG are they ever darling! i'm so amazed at their cuteness. i swear it's the dumbo the gets me lol. such sweeties! i like louie and lestat, i don't see the big deal. it's good and easy to say and different enough that they can learn their names. for toys i'm all about raiding my recycle bin. boxes galore!

So I found "the cage". It's about a foot shorter than me and is about a foot off the floor, so that'd be about 3 feet tall. It's a black dometop cage and the bar spacing is 1/2". Unfortunately the store wanted an outrageous amount of money. They wanted $450 for a cage smaller than the bird cage I bought for $350. If they had been asking $200 or even $250 I'd have bought it right there.

Kendalle, I like your idea of the dollhouse out of boxes. I have a pile of cardboard boxes underneath my chinchilla cage. Maybe I'll transform it into a castle when I'm feeling better. I'm sure it'd be much more attractive than a pile of plain ol boxes.

Oh and they're not identical twins - I just call them that. These boys are my second set of "twins". Miyu and Mayu were the first. Lemme see if I have a pic of them.... only I could ever tell them apart lol.

I just use the term "twin" because they look alike and are from the same litter. A good example would be to get two sibling agoutis. "Twins"

I have a rat on my head hehehe!

I've decided on Jack and Louie. He seems more like a Jack than anything else =).

I also bought an octopus ferret toy lol! My sister-in-law gave me a $25 Petsmart gift card, and the octopus was $25. It's so tacky, I love it.
