When can I clean their cage?

My two females had babies about 9-10 days ago. The cage is really stinky now, as I'm a few days overdue with the cleaning. Most of the babies have full coats by now but still have not opened their eyes. Is it too early to clean the cage still? If so, when is a good time to clean it?

It really depends on how much the mice trust you.

It is always best to stick treats in the cage and get the mommas out first. THEN RUB YOUR HANDS IN THE DIRTY BEDDING TO SMELL "MOUSEY". Then scoop out the bedding around the house and put fresh bedding and materials around the house. don't disturb the babies as the mommas may feel threatened. Mine always dumped the old nesdting out and filled it with new nesting. The you can remove the old nesting materials without disturbing the nest.
