Worried about my lone rat mourning his buddy.

Our sweet Rocket passed away this a.m. (it's x-mas too) Would it be wise to switch cages? I have multiple cages that don't smell like Rocket. I feel like Thunder-kitty is looking for Rocket. I was wondering if a change of cage ( but not his favorite toys and blanket) may help. I appreciate any input. Thank You.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

I don't have any experience with that, but it might be wise. I know that rqats can get very depressed and actually cause them to get sick and essentially die of a broken heart.

You should at least clean up the cage and his blankets real good and see what happens. I will bump this so you can get some more replies. Good Luck

Thank You CrWoodyspets for your response. I put him in a different cage with his hut and blanket for about 24 hours but he seemed weird so i cleaned out the cage they shared and made lots of things to do for him. Now this morning he is playing and acting pretty normal. Poor thing. Thanks again, I worry about their little psyches.
