Young preg mouse had her babies

well she had 7 yesterday, 4 still alive 2 dead and a half a pinkie (not a pretty site).

The remaining ones seem to be doing okay, milk bellies and all and mom is getting on well too she's with them all the time well until it's feed time lol. Still no pictures of pinkies yet will get some later on don't want to jinks it as they are looking a little small!

Is it normal for them to loose so many babies? Poor little ones. It's wonderful that she is being a good momma.

I think she might have been too young.
That might be why.
But it sounds like she's being a good mom to the others!!

If the mouse had her babies within the last 2-5 of giving birth and you go to check on them the mommy mouse could eat her bebaies feeling that they are not safe. If that's not the case then she was probablly too young or they were sick. Good luck with the rest. Can't wait to see pics!

Good luck with the remaining babies.

Mice will eat their young if they are not getting enough nutrients/protein and calories,if the young are sick or if the mother feels threatened.

Congrats! Now you get to watch them develop. By the way, dont touch them until they are at least 3 days old.

thanks for all your comments the babies are doing fine but thats not to say that it can't turn for the worse yet as they aren't that old don't think i'll be touching these babies till at least 2 weeks old as they were born either tuesday or wednesday (should of wrote the date down), they are soo small, smaller then usual.
