Question Breedback Timeline

Hi,
I just found this website a couple of days ago and it's great! Ok, so my female chinchilla just had babies on Sunday, and I just adopted her a month ago from someone who said she had just had kits a few months ago and that she might be pregnant again. Surprise, she was! So, I don't want my poor little girl to get pregnant a third time right in a row and I separated her and her hubby. I was wondering how long they have to stay separated? He is really quite good with the kits, and has a history of being nice with them. He also really wants to be with her, and visa versa.

How long until she "closes up"?

considering this is a breedback litter I would leave them seperated for a few months. She deserves a break. Let her wean these kits totally then have a month or so to herself.

Ok, that's what I was worried of. I guess I could have them in adjoining cages so they can still kiss
