buddy for my chin

hi all. my chin is about 6 months old and she is a female. is there a certain time frame i should get her a female buddy to play with i dont want them to fight. can i wait another few months and they will still get along. can any one answer. thanks

It's not so much the time frame as it is the chins themselves.

Another female cagemate might be a great idea. However, you need to have a second cage just in case it doesn't work out.

You'll have to quarantine the second chin in the other cage for a minimum of one month, then set the cages side by side to let them get used to one another. Let them have playtime together. Don't just "throw" them in together.

If it's a female, she should get along with another female as long as she isn't really old. But since she's six month, you should have plenty of time to introduce her. Just go it gradually (like 2 cages side by side or playtime in a neutral place) You can always introduce a male, but of course, that'll lead to babies.
