Chins getting along!

Woo hoo! I recently got 2 new chins to give my little Mo companions. I smushed them all yesterday then put them all in their new cage and wasn't really sure it would ever work. They didn't really seem to be getting along at all. When I woke up this morning, though, I found this:
Yup. That's a 3 chinnie pile up! I was sooooo happy! Mo loves his new friends! They are all playing together right now. Each of them are taking turns on the wheel. It's just too cute. I hope all continues to go so well.
One more pic to share- My entire apartment is done in zebra stripes, so this pic will probably end up framed. This is one of my new guys, Skeeter. Is he a cutie or what?

Smooshing isn't really all that painful. It just involves putting something smelly like Vick's VapoRub (I used vanilla extract) on all their noses (and rumps-but I wasn't THAT brave) and putting them all into a small confined space for about 15 minutes or so. Mine went into a half blocked off pet carrier. They worked out most of their dominance issues in there. Then, I put them all into their new cage when I knew I'd be home all day to watch them. They went in, checked out the new cage, chased eachother around (I was a little worried) and then went to sleep. When they woke up they were all more or less fine with eachother. Their relationship continues to improve each day. I'm just so happy it seems to be working out! Mo is no longer a lonely guy all alone in his cage! Yay!

Why do you have to put stinky stuff on them?

'Cause that way they won't smell each other! All they'll smell is the smelly stuff on their noses and bottoms.

That kind of sounds like bunny bonding in a way, without the smelly stuff. Cute pics and I especially like the name Mo! Is it short for anything? My rabbit is named Mojave and we call him Mo.

It's short for Mochilla, actually. Mo comes from the fact that I had to drive 4 hours into Missouri (MO) to find a chinchilla breeder within driving distance! We only call him Mochilla when we want to use his gansta name, jk. That's what one of my friends said it sounded like. lol
