Do chins like the dark?

I keep my chin in a seperate room in her cage, but the blinds in that room don't really do much in that room. Do chins like being in the dark during the day? Or do they mind the daylight? Should I put a towel over her cage during the day? Or am I worrying about absolutely nothing?

I close the blinds in my chinchilla's room if its going to really hot that day. He doesn't seem to mind either way if they're open or closed. I have a little house in his cage that he sleeps in and that seems to be enough darkness for him. I put a towel over his cage once and it seemed to bother him; he kept walking around in his cage during the day when he usually would be sleeping. Just make sure that your chinchilla's cage isn't in direct sunlight.

They need a feeling of night and day.
They don't mind daylight. There will only be a problem if it gets too hot in the room during the day

So just let her feel the natural rythm of the day in your area

They are fine with daylight... i live in alaska, anddd the days get super long and the nights super short.... im not really into closing my blinds and i have never noticed my chins having an issue... they still know when its time to get up and beg for play time and when its time to go to sleep
