grooming my chinchilla??

I'm rather new to owning chinchillas and the one male that i have somehow got a cump in his fur on his belly..

hes very jumpy .. any tips oh how i can get it out?

Do you give them/him regular dust baths? Because with their dust baths it should keep their fur nice in addition to them grooming themselves.
I also found this for you:

they say on there (thou i'm not 100% if they are correct) that you can use these methods to remove the clump:

"3 ways for u to choose.

1.) pull the clump fur out by hand.
2.) use a grooming comb to comb the clump areas.
3.) send it for grooming.

when the fur gets in contact with water or urine, over time the fur will be clumped. It's quite normal."

he does have a dust bath daily.. i just felt it and couldnt seem to get it off.. i didnt want to hurt him so i didnt pull the fur ..

i usually go to a local pet-co to get my chinchilla supplys.. never seen a brush there and im not quite sure if they do grooming.. i guess i could find out though.. thank you

wow thanks thats awesome info great site, i cant believe a comb is $40 wow! but anyways im sure its worth it who knows if he would hold still, my female would but him he is a different story...
