How often?

How often do you give your chinchillas treats? I give a treat once or twice a week.

I give a fruit treat every third day, it goes something like this...

Day 1 : Select one: Raisen, 1/4 piece of prune, 1/2 cranberry, pinky nail size piece of mango
Day 2 : finger nail size sqaure of dried up toast
Day 3 : 1/3 to half a shedded wheat cereal piece

I have been offering it in the morning cuddle time. The evening treat is floor time.

Every night. I alternate between a tiny piece of: organic dried apple, organic dried papaya, or unsweetened shredded wheat.

I give my chins a treat once a day. I alternate between a lot of choices, and have been trying to find them a more healthy treat.

True treats, probably a couple times a week. I keep grapevine wreaths and now apple cookies/sticks on hand and give those in lieu of sweet treats - they're just as happy!

I give each of mine a treat every night but they only get a raisin once (twice if I give in) a week.

Mine get a piece of a piece of shredded wheat every night. They're still little guys, so they don't ever get a whole one yet. 1 or 2 times a week I substitute the cereal with either a raisin or a banana yogurt drop.

Ours get a treat every night, we alternate between various types (that we can get here). If they get an apple stick they don't get a treat for a few days, however if they don't have the apple stick then they get alternated treats... Such as, raisins, craisins, shredded wheat, and 1 sunflower seed. Once I can find papaya treats they around here, I will begin to alternate those as well. We are limited to what we can find here, however I know we will be stocked up soon. Seeing the weather is on the warmer side, I tend to freeze the raisins and craisins (they love it). We have also recently found banana yogurt treats so we've been known to break those up and give them that as well. Being that they are both so little they only get 1/2 of one of the above for now

Mine get treats 2-3 times a week.

They either get a raisin, a piece of dehydrated papaya, or an unsweetened piece of shredded wheat.

I would avoid giving chins peanuts because of the high fat content.
