Smile I'm A New Chin Owner Help

I'm New To The Chin World.
I Recently adopted a 9 yr. old Chinchilla named ChiChi.
I was told that she does not get along with other chins and she killed her last cage mate.

I believe the previous owner before the shelter abused her. Chi Chi's tail is about 4 inches shorter than normal. She's missing a front toe as well.

She's extremely vocal but never bitten me I've had her about a month now.
But, is there any advice you can give me to help me and Chi Chi get more bonded I realize she's an older chin but she seems as tho she does trust me.

But Any Advice Would Be Amazing

Thanks EveryOne!

Zipper is a rescue of mine. He's been hard to win over! What I'd recommend is sitting in front of her cage, and talk to her nicely. While doing that, just put your arm in the cage. Don't try to pet her, don't move. Let her come up to your arm and after awhile, it'll be a ledge, a play thing. Do this for a week or two. Then you can use a safe treat, like a rosehip. When she lets you scritch her (a gentle scratch behind the ear or under the chin) and doesn't run away, give it to her. You should only give 2-3 treats a week at max. So if you have time during the other days, see if she'll let you. Eventually you can train them to hop on your arm to come out of the cage for playtime.

Good luck!
