I'm stumped!

I came home at lunch today and since I'm expecting kits from Sam and Sage, I went in to do a "baby check" While I was in the chin room, I looked up at Skye's cage and noticed blood on the side of her wooden shelf. I grabbed my stool, (since her's is a top cage) and climbed up for a better look. I was SHOCKED when I discovered a pool of dried blood on her shelf about the size of a dollar bill folded in half. There were several other smaller pools of dried blood as well and it looks as if it had dripped over the edge. That's a lot of blood to find! So, I immediately pulled the little 6 week old violet kit out and checked him over top to bottom. Not a mark on him and he was dancing around like normal. So, I figured it was Skye that was injured. Pulled her out and again, went over her from top to bottom. I checked eyes, ears, noses, teeth, paws, tails, nipples, gentials, bellies, backs, and sides and again, not a scratch on her either! There is no fur anywhere in the cage, daddy is running around in the run like normal, he's fine. The jump hole cover is still on and there is no signs of struggle or injuries, so where did the blood come from??? I'm completely stumped! I don't think it was anything that was retained from her last litter since it has been 6 weeks and there was no clots in it. Not only that, but there was no indication from her genital area that would even suggest it. It's the wierdest thing! The only thing I can think of is that her cage is haunted...any thoughts?

Probably a silly question, but did you check the pads of her feet? I've had a chin with a dry foot that cracked and it bled like crazy!

Yup, that was the first thing I checked because I've had that happen before too...but the blood wasn't anything like this. Her feet are totally normal. Maybe a slight bit calloused but not cracked or anything. Both Skye and baby are still acting normal and totally fine. Someone on another forum thought maybe a miscarriage? But I closed off her jump hole about a week before her due date and it's been closed off ever since. I suppose it could be, but everything looks normal in that area. She doesn't even have any cage stain (she never does anyway) so it's really got me confused.
