Talking My new chinchilla!

Hey guys!
I got my baby chinchilla last night! A little standard gray girl. We decided to name her Bailey! She is so cute, and loves her new cage! I can't wait to post a pic, lol. The breeder we got her from said she would do a dust bath a few times a week, what does everyone else do? Just curious! I got special food from her, and some hay cubes. Is there any treats to give a chinchilla? It was so cute, she let out a little bark when we brought her in, and my dogs thought there was another dog in the house or something, lol.

Congrats on the new chinnie..... yeah the little bark was a "warning" sign lol, as for dust baths mine usually get them 3x a week. As for treats, mine like raisins, craisins, sugar free banana chips, dried papaya, dried pineapple... they also love their mini shredded wheat (plain). Mine aren't too picky thank goodness, so far I only have 2 chins out of 15 (soon to be more) that don't like the papaya. Curious what kind of food is your chinnie on? as for hay cubes ours get them as well, and of course don't forget Timothy Hay or Timothy/Alfalfa mix hay, the hay is an important part of their diet. Good luck with your new chinnie, can't wait to see pictures...and again

Aw guys thanks for the congrats! I will get a pic asap! She is still very scared after a week and doesn't want to come out, lol. She loves raisins, I gave her one last night and it was gone so fast! She is on food that I got from the breeder, I think its called Kline diet? She goes to the Carolinas every3 months to get it, and I will buy it from her. I also got a supplement to sprinkle on her food, Kessler or something? I am not sure.I will try some of those treats too! I will get the pics soon!
