Unhappy My Poor Chinnie

About a year ago, I bout a chinchilla named Cozy from the pet store. She was great for a long time and then my fiancee and I went to Arizona for a week. We left her with my parents who looked in on her, but when we came back Cozy was laying on her side and very lethargic. Her breathing was very shallow. She protested when we picked her up, but that was the only movement she would make. We hurried to the vet and he said he didnt know what was wrong but she looked like she was just waiting to pass. The longer we waited the worse she got . She started to breath hard through her mouth and her head would raise up evey time she inhaled. So, I made the decision to put her down. It is hard for me not knowing what happened and how I can prevent it from happening again. I am against eithanasia to begin with and so I am having a really difficult time coming to terms with it all. She was only 2 years old. If anyone has any ideas about what it could have been, please let me know. Thanks,

In memory of Cozy

I'm so sorry for your loss. It's never easy to have a pet euthanised. I'm not sure what could have happened, the only true way anyone could tell would be by a necropsy. That's how we were able to find out how my precious angels Scooter and Sneakers passed away.

I hope your little angel is up in heaven playing with my two angels.
