New male chinchilla and Im kinda concerened

I went and picked up my new chinchilla, O'Ryan, this past weekend. Im noticing that his poops are very small, like the size of those of a kit!!! Is there anything that I can do to alleviate this? Im worried about him and ive never had this problem. Also im noticing that he has quite a few hair mats. I guess this lady just didnt take care of him that well. any advice would be appreciated.

Feed him rasins. If that doesn't helt, he needs to go to the vet.
As for the hair mats, if they do not go away after a day or two with dust baths, you need to cut them out. He'll look very weird for a while, but it's for the best

Be sure he is drinking plenty of water. Are you feeding him hay?

It's a chinchilla. They do not drink that much. Their bodies are very good at using the water it gets in... If a chinchilla drinks a lot you need to worry. If they drink a bit, but not very much it shouldn't be a problem...
