Purring????

Here's something else I have wondered, when I have my chin's out watching TV with me, or if I just petting them, sometimes they vibrate...is this some type of purring? Or am I crazy? What does it mean?

None of my chins ever pur... at least I don't think they do! Sometimes when one escapes when I havn't chin-proofed the room and I have to get him he'll be vibrating a little when I bring him back, but I think that's because he's scared.

I pet Chilla a lot and I've never gotten a "purring" response before

My male degus vibrate when they're out and they sniff the girls through the cage.. but I dont think that would be the same thing unless you have a female chinnie around?

Some of mine will tremble/vibrate when they're nervous or otherwise upset.

hmmm I just thought they did it because they are comfy, but maybe their are a little nervous I can't imagine what they would be scared of though. Both of my chins are girls. I never hear them purr (like a cat) but if I pet them sometimes they vibrate. Its interesting to me.
