well everyone today was terrible

Last night (thursday night) my chinchilla Athos went to the ER because he was breathing heavy, not eating, and various other things were wrong with him. Today (friday) he stayed at the vet and an x-ray revealed that he had a large heart, small lungs, and a renal stone... there was a minimal success rate and a high chance that he would suffer... I decided he had to be put down, he was my favorite of the two because he and me had a tight bond. I normally dont cry on sad events, however, i cant stop crying... so now I am down to one chinchilla and Bailey wants another friend... what should I do?

Thank you,

Matt

Oh. I'm so sorry. That must have been so hard to do. Things like that just happen sometimes though. You made the right decision.
You should definitely get Bailey a new pal. I'm not sure if he is wondering where his friend went or not, but it could help you 'recover' so-to-speak from what happened. I'm sure Athos wouldn't want you to be upset about him.

Well it did take five hours of driving, but I got Bailey a new friend. He's a white pink eyed 4 month old male, his name is kiwi. They seem to like each other alot. Thank you everyone, I still miss Athos, but it's for the best.

awww im sorry you had to go through this *hugs* give yourself and your chin time to grieve, then concentrate on a friend, young ones are easier to introduce i believe?
