Isn't it though? The ferret isn't related to the black-footed ferret

Hahaha those are some awesome pictures. I saved a couple(ferrets/weasels are by far my favorite animal on the planet). Btw, black-footed ferrets are the smaller, wild cousin of the domesticated ferret. They're very related. Same genus, just a different species.

lol wow, well you can look it up yourself to be sure -- They're both mustelids, meaning they are weasels. They're very related, you can just tell by looking at them =D. Their hair is shorter however and they are pretty aggressive.

Maybe he meant to say they weren't the same exact species? That's true. But I bet they could probably inter-mate anyways like horses and donkeys.

I think it is something like comparing a domesticated cat or dog to a bobcat or dingo/wolf-- both are felines and canines, but not what you would normally be able to keep as pets.
