Do ferrets teethe??

This may be a silly question but I was wondering if ferrets teethe.

We had a few ferrets over the years but most of them were older when we got them.

Rocky is just turning 6 months old and I've noticed for the last month or so off and on he'll gnaw on the side of the food dish while he's eating. Not just a little but he really goes to town on it!! So I'm thinking he might be using t like a teething ring?

Sounds logical to me that they would teethe. Have you tried giving him hard plastic rubber toys, or tennis balls to chew on? Maybe, too, he just hasn't figured out the food bowl isn't part of the meal!

My Weezie eats off a little tea cup saucer plate that doesn't really have sides on it. She's 3-1/2 years old but STILLl likes to have her food moistened with warm water before she'll dig in. (spoiled brat!) You might try -- if you haven't already -- softening the food and offering it on a flat plate.

Good luck!
