I am a CA resident, and I am planning to smuggle me a couple ferrets home in a few weeks. I'm looking at a transit time of 7-10 hours. Since this is such a long trip I am very concerned for the well being of my future furballs. I need the transport container to be relatively small to be able to conceal it when necessary. I plan to have a bit of food and plenty of water. I am curious as to what kind of setup experience owners use...I'm sure that they will need to relieve themselves during the trip and I really don't want them to suffer in a small dirty cage (nor do I want any leaks from the cage onto my car seat. Should I try to get something that I can stuff a small litter box into? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Note: As I'm sure this question will be raised, I have checked into my local area vets and have found one that treats ferrets on a regular basis.
Any help/suggestions are welcome.
