Question grooming your ferrets

I seen a ad on CL (craigslist).A new ferret owner had no idea. Please post answering these questions.Maybe it will be useful to members and guests.

1) How do you trim the nails?
2) How often should you bath them?
3) What king of shampoo should you use?
4) Should you brush their fur?
5) How do you brush a ferrets teeth?

Please help if I missed any thing!

1)buy ferret or cat nail clippers.and don't clip past the red in there nails

2) not often, if drys out there skin. i do mine once every 4 or so months if that. only when they start stinking.

3)i use ferret deoterizing shampoo.

4) you don't have to..i don't

5) they have special treats that help keep them clean.

also, Ferret's should have "shavings" like hamsters, they prefer real bedding, like fleece hammoks and such. and shavings can give them respatory porblems.

They have products for all animals to get tarter off, but its important to brush their teeth. Why wait until they have to see a vet dentist? Do you have any idea how expensive that is? Its just as important for their teeth to be brushed as it is for humans.
