Help!!!...New Ferret Owner....

I just Got A new Ferret about 2 weeks ago and He's Done really well and fittin in I live in an appartment and my room mate Fell in love... lately I have noticed that his Butt is all red and looks verry Irritated.... im not sure is this is because my Roomie likes to feed him ham??? of if theres something else wrong with him.... Is Poop seems to be a lil more runny then usual too.....


Please Help

i say take him to the vet. i believe ferrets are very prone to illness. maybe feeding it ham isn't good? i think it's a really greasy meat. chicken might be better

I would take him to the vet, no idea what is wrong with his bottom, it sounds like some sort of skin irritation, best to get it checked out. Chicken and turkey are the best meats for ferrets, nice and lean.

I don't believe ham is your problem at all--ferrets need fat in their diets they convert fat into energy--like we do with carbs--Just be sure that it doesn't have a sugary glaze on it(pine-apples).

I don't think ham would cause irritation around his but. I would have your vet look at it. Redness in that area is not normal.
