I've never had one, but i've heard they're like 2 year olds. They're playful, sly, and like to steal things and hide them in their cage?

Lilalex you will have lots of fun if you deside to ferrets but let me warn you that they smell as you will find out when you get them as mulder said they are very playful and they can bite and when they do it hurts but if you handle them as soon as you get them they will learn to trust you and become very freindly and i would addvise you to get two as they like company best of luck and hope this bit of info helps .... happy new year to you and your family.

Maria is right, thought Gunny is great she can and does smell, though as long as their litter is kept clean its not that bad, but I only have one. Gunny has always been very trusting but again they are like any other pet, the younger they are and you handle them the better off you will be and they can be a handful so keep that in mind. Good luck and happy new year!

To keep the odor down keep the litter box clean and wash their bedding often. I try to clean Gunnys every other day and wash once a week, though I don't wash as often as I should and its not too bad, then again I only have one (I think I said that already though) Luckily she and the cat are best friends and play often. Whenever Gunny is up Xena stares at the cage wanted Gunny out, its so cute!

yes, they are a handful, they do like to steal shiny things and hide them, they can smell, they can bite, and they can scratch, but even after all of that, they are worth the effort! i wouldn't change my decision to buy tinker, and then rescue bonnie for the world! while there are the down sides to having a ferret, there are many up sides as well. you will never get a cuter, sweeter kiss than the kisses from your ferret. and you will never laugh as hard as you do at your ferret. the good, TOTALLY out weighs the bad!
