The orange color is usually associated with a male ferret that has not been neutered. I have seen them that are almost neon orange when they are hobs. Sherman is 1.5 years and is a Marshall ferret, so he was neutered as a baby. It may have something to do with his diet at the shelter. He was there for at least 6 months. We will see what color comes up with his next coat change. I have a feeling there is a very white ferret hiding under all that orange.
I'll tell you though, no matter what color he ends up...he is still a peach!!
