Poor Gunny

She had a horrible experience at a vet on Thursday. The vet was so rough with her and didn't even take her temp. he then wanted to charge over 300 dollars to clean her teeth! Needless to say I called my first vet to get another vet's opinion but since he's an hour away and also not seeing ferrets anymore he recommended another vet. The vet he recommended is much more reasonable! Lets hope that the appointment she has on Tuesday with the new vet goes well!

It went great! The vet checked her teeth easily, said they did NOT need to be cleaned, whew! He also played with her and her squeaky toy and she loved it! I felt much more at ease with this vet and trusted him more.

The poor child! I hate the doctor myself so when the vets are awful to my critters it makes me really upset. I have actually rarely had good experience vet-wise when it came to my ferrets...seeing specialists definitely is a good idea, especially with the cost and often fragile health of ferrets.

Argggh! Stuff like that burns me. We had one vet about kill our dog. My daughter wrote them a LONG letter about it too. I was proud of her. If she hadn't I would have. That and passed the word along that they really didn't care about the animals. We went to another vet and you can tell they loved animals. They know our pets names and just make all over them and our pets love seeing them. Well, except when they see that needle. Then again I would too. lol

You need to make sure people are aware of their treatment of animals. I had one vet that handled our cats worse than rag dolls. No respect. We left there.

You need to let the vet know. Sometimes they do that job day in and day out and forget why they are there. If that doesn't seem to get anywhere notify the BBB Better Business Bureau. What doesn't hurt either is let the Chamber of Commerce. If they don't have one the city board. People know that things like that bring money. I reported a bad restaurant to a CC and boy they were all over them that the restaurant owner called us.
You're doing other pet owners and really the vet too to remind them to be more respectful and decent with animals.

Glad Gunny is okay and they're pretty forgiving of the owner. But I doubt that forgiving of that vet.
