Unhappy R.I.P. Tinker

very sad news everyone, Tinker has passed away. no positive reason, but tonight when i went up to bed, i found him laying on the one level of the cage, not moving, which was very unusual for him when i go upstairs. he was jumping around and playing with bonnie this morning when i fed them before work, so i don't know what happened. if anyone might have some insight to sudden death of a ferret, please let me know so i know it's nothing i did. everyone please say a prayer for my little baby.

"mommy loves you tinker. rest well my baby boy."

Oh no

I'm so sorry to hear this. How old was Tinker? And when was the last time he was to the vet? Did he have any bloodwork done that showed any outstanding diseases? If not, it may have been something related to adrenal or insulinoma(which can be prevented and maintined). There's also the possibility he maybe chewed something up and choked on it? Is there any diarrhea in the litter box? Bah...I dunno...I'm so sorry. I feel your pain ;[

I am very sorry for your loss {{hugs}} I have the same questions that Turkeyman has.
RIP Tinker Losing an animal is always hard, but it seems the most difficult when it is unexpected. Please let us know if you find out anything. A vet could perform a necropsy for your peace of mind if you wanted to have that done.

Sorry for your loss.

I don't know a lot about ferrets, but Im pretty sure they don't just all of a sudden die. If it was an illness, you would have seen warning signs.

Could she have choked on something?

Unless you get a necropsy, you won't have any real answers.

I hope Bonnie's doing well...is she? Separating ferrets is very difficult -- they grow so attached to each other. Again, R.I.P Tinker...and yeah a necropsy seems like it would do a whole lotta good.
