Scratching at doors!!!!!

Guys I have a major problem!! When we have any doors closed in the house we have a major problem with him scratching at the door trying to get in even though there is no possible way he can lol but he just keeps on trying!!!
He has totally wrecked the carpet in the doorway of my bedroom, not just that but the sound of him doing this drives me insane haha I have trimmed his nails but that doesnít stop him.

What can I do to stop him doing this?? Is there a certain smell that they donít like to put there or something, please anything will do give me some feedback!!

Cheers
Blake

The best thing against ferrets seems to be either fastening plexiglass to the bottoms of doors where they meet the carpet, or using the ultimate combo: cardboard + duct tape. When I had problems like these I just took some old boxes, cut them up, and duct taped them over the problem area. It worked for me...though if it persists plexiglass might be your best bet to cut down on the sound. Good luck!

I have tried that and it failed on me as well...however i use fooey and it works great for my rodents, says it even works for ferrets..so who knows...maybe that could work

Usually the bitter apple and "ferret-off" stuff don't work for ferrets too well. Only for a period of time, maybe, but they get used to it fast. Best way is just blocking off the area so its out of mind, and scruffing them with a big "NO!" when they do something bad. It takes lots of time with certain ferrets because they're persistent little poops but they'll get it...at least my three have...
